About Our College
Our Mission & Vision
Congo Sea Eagle Buddhist College is dedicated to providing high-quality education in Buddhist studies while fostering a community of compassionate and mindful scholars.
Our Mission
To provide transformative education that integrates academic study, meditation practice, and community service, empowering students to contribute to the well-being of all beings through wisdom and compassion.
Our Vision
To be the leading institution for Buddhist studies in Africa, known for academic excellence, authentic lineage, and innovative application of Buddhist principles to contemporary challenges.

Our History
Congo Sea Eagle Buddhist College was founded in 1995 by Vietnamese Buddhist monk Venerable Thich Minh Quang, who had a vision of establishing a center for Buddhist studies in Central Africa.
The college began with just three teachers and twenty-five students in a small rented facility. Over the years, thanks to generous donations and growing interest in Buddhist studies, CSEBC expanded to its current campus in Kinshasa, which spans 10 acres and includes meditation halls, classrooms, dormitories, and a library housing one of the richest collections of Buddhist literature in Africa.
In 2005, CSEBC received accreditation from the International Association of Buddhist Universities. Today, the college offers undergraduate and graduate programs in Buddhist studies, philosophy, meditation, ethics, and related fields, serving over 1,200 students from more than 30 countries.
